You know Canal... Deb and I never had kids...(paying for that now that we've a lodge and hire 20 plus kids each summer)....so anywhos.... we used to ranch... so our "family" photo album was basically chuck full of shots such as this... Our cattle were range cows wintered on riverbottom pastures.... and eventually most cows and their calves sported matching yellow mumbered ytex tags in the left ear... We had predominatelly red cattle with a left rib brand of open heart spear connected.... long story I know but point is... this ol sem looking cow reminds me of our old number 73... her name was Vern.... and she was a handful... one time she raised a bull calf... his name was Vern the Bull... and he became a legend on the western range....You ever come this way I'll drag out the family album.... and bore you to tears.... :)

Kevin Millard Great story cbc. It's nice to bridge the gap between NY and your ranch. Never bored by connections. I was planted near the big city but my heart has always been in the country. Our best vacations were always when my Dad would take us "down home" to the farm land of Pennsylvania where he was brought up. The narrower the road, the less traffic the greater feel of comfort. I would love to drop by and sit a spell and trade stories , see who gets bored first. Thanks for your comments, always a pleasure...Jim....or Traveler....or Hey you!...I answer to all
