A VISIT TO BUTTERFLY CREEK
Butterfly Creek, Auckland, New Zealand, is home to a large tropical butterfly house that was started by John Dowsett and Fiona Turner in 2003.

The butterflies are imported as pupae from butterfly farms all around the world, primarily Asia and Central America. The butterfly house is temperature controlled to approximately 28 degrees celsius, with high humidity to replicate the conditions of the butterflies’ natural environment. Inside the tropical butterfly house there are also finches, water dragons and a variety of fish.
