Atlas Strong Shoulder Mason Jars, Vintage 1920s

These two vintage light aqua Atlas Strong Shoulder mason jars were made by Hazel-Atlas Glass Company, probably in the 1920s. The "strong shoulder" was an innovation whereby the jar seals on a raised lip, solving the problem of frequent shattering in the older style jar. The jars have zinc lids with porcelain lining; both are labeled Atlas and have the company's logo, an H with an A under it, on the inside.
