apples
Apples have a short season in my year. I adore them when they first ripen. I eat them almost daily. This year, I've been enjoying a new variety called honey crisp, which sounds like a breakfast cereal. Although apples are available year round, I stop eating them soon after the harvest. Maybe they taste as good, and maybe they still have the same snap and juiciness, but I never think they do. So I switch to clementines.
