Kwakiutl beacon

This Pacific Northwest Totem Pole is 127 feet high....


I didn't get to shoot as much as I would have liked to on this trip because of the constant rain, but it was dry on my last night in Victoria, so I braved the freezing cold for this shot... I would have liked to do a longer exposure here, but due to the close proximity of the Victoria's ambient city light, 28 minutes was all I was able to do without washing out the stars... As you can see there is less contrast than normal between the star trails and the sky... Other than that, I'm happy with it.
