Incident Name: Yuba Fire Location: in the Dobbins / Oregon House Area

Command Team: CAL FIRE Incident Command Team #10

Start Date & Report Time: August 14, 2009, 12:58 p.m.

Cause: Fire investigators have confirmed the initial fire was started by a bird into a power line, but another fire in the area remains under investigation.

Acres: 3,891 Acres % Containment: 80% Expected Containment: August 22, 2009

Fire Engines: 138 Fire Crews: 50 Bulldozers: 13

Helicopters: 3 Airtankers: 0 Total Personnel: 1,691

Injuries: 26 Structures Damaged: 0 Structures Destroyed: 2 residences

Current Situation: The threat to critical power lines from the Colgate Hydroelectric Plant and associated PG&E infrastructure has been mitigated. Todays burning operation was successful in mitigating potential fire hazards in the eastern portion of the fire. Firefighters continue to make progress constructing fire line and have completed a contingency line to the east. Firefighters are patrolling for smoke and extinguishing smoldering fires. Access to the fire remains difficult due to steep terrain and heavy fuels. Fire commanders are optimistic that containment is within sight. Residents must remain vigilant for changes in fire conditions.
