Wurdack Research Center hosted several area schools and hundreds of students for their annual Agriculture Education Day on Oct. 2, 2014. Talks featured MU researchers and specialists sharing information about cattle, compost, drones, forestry and how runoff effects our groundwater. MDC agents shared their stories about becoming agents and what their job entails protecting Missouri's wildlife and natural resources.
Students from Salem High School listen as Bruce Burdick talks about the future of UAS systems in agriculture. He showed off his quadcopter and the simple camera system that allows the user to capture images and video from unique perspectives for crop and livestock scouting, nutrient availability analysis and other potential uses.
