Sunday breakfast - pancakes & berries!
Santa brought Helen a bag full of new cookbooks, oh my ….what a bummer! She has really taken off in the last several years, hitting new levels of gastronomic achievement that has caused me to focus on watching my weight – but not without pleasure for sure.
Of the several additions to our library, was the new book by Neil Kleinberg and DeDe Lahman, who own the Clinton Street Baking Company. Their claim to fame is being voted “best pancakes in New York City” – twice! We both read the secret ingredients (hint: whipped egg whites) and she created a culinary master piece on Sunday morning. The price of the book is well worth this one recipe, but there are many more we look forward to eating over the next several months.
Thank god for work – if I was home everyday with Helen’s cooking, I would need a new wardrobe to fit into.
Captured with: d700, 85mm @ f/3.5, 1/80. Using natural light in Helen’s kitchen and Saturday night’s Christmas dinner linen. Of note - I had my daughter hold up a white linen napkin to camera left and bounce the window light back which made a big difference overall.
