Faces of SINULOG 2011

Taken from this year's Sinulog festival.

The SInulog is an annual festival held every January in the City of Cebu, in the Philippines.

Being a predominantly Catholic country, the festival is held in honor of the patron saint of Cebu, STO. NIÑO or the child Jesus.

"The festival features some the country’s most colorful displays of pomp and pageantry: participants garbed in bright-colored costumes dance to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs."

Sadly, you're not going to see a lot of that festivity in my new photos, because I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to try a different focusing method that i am very unfamiliar with - and it failed miserably. 90% of my photos were out of focus - i am that smart, lol. So you are going to instead content yourself with a few portraits i took that day XD

The photos that i took last year are here --> Sinulog 2010

NOTE that these photos are candid street shots of these marvelous and dedicated people who participated, walked and danced in the city's streets of the grand Sinulog parade that started from sunrise and lasted way after sundown, amidst the rain and sunshine.

Kudos to these street artists and performers. You are all winners!
