Victory Mill, Victory NY
The original Victory Mill was built in 1846; this structure is now deemed unsalvageable. An expansion, now the main building, is where the majority of the photos here were taken. The facility was originally a cotton mill and was very successful until the 1870's, when the company looked into moving out of the area. This ultimately happened in 1930 and the town's economy gradually fell, following the general pattern of small upstate towns that were once reliant on industry now vanished. The building has been vacant for since 2000, most recently serving as a packaging plant.

In 2008, the property was purchased for only $50,000 by a Long Island company in hopes of converting part of the structure into lofts. The same company has been successfully renovating the Harmony Mills in Cohoes. The future of the Victory Mill is uncertain but looks hopeful.
