Surreal just like the song from Disney's Dumbo. I've tried it again, photo editing. My last attempt was pretty bad so hopefully this is an improvement. It doesn't look too bad to me but if you guys can point me in the right direction to how I can improve, I really enjoy editing photos like this and would love to get better. Obvs I watch the phlearn videos from Aaron Nace cos he's really good at stuff like this. I know the straight line down my body isn't great but I'm not sure how to overcome this just yet. I guess I just need to take more shots as layers and layer them in on top?
So, a breakdown of how I composed this image -
Background is just a stock image stolen from the internet
I shot (well my friend shot it) a picture of me flicking my hair back whilst lying on a chair.
I use Gimp 2.6, uploaded the background. Added the cut out version of myself as a layer and rotated it. I had also shot a picture of the umbrella so again, cut it out and mirrored it as it was facing the wrong way. Moved both items around until if looked compositionally right. I then duplicated the layer and took the contrast right down and decreased opacity, to make the shadow. I i-warped the shadow a little to get it more shadow like and hey presto. This image came about. I hope that helps :)
