The Muse Transformed!

The bronze *'Muse', by Edward Onslow Ford, situated in front of the Marlowe Theatre in The Friars, Canterbury has had a facelift.

On the right is the Muse in August 2009: on the left in October 2011, just after specialist cleaning.

Around the plinth are mini-statues of characters from Marlowe's plays, including 'Dr Faustus', and 'Tamburlaine'.

The new Theatre reopened on October 4 2011 after a three year rebuild.

Looks lovely now!

* Officially the statue is called The Marlowe Memorial, but I'm not a purist!
