Hubert`s Old Tobacco Barn

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tobacco Kentucky USA

The tobacco barn, a type of functionally classified barn found in the United States and Southern Ontario, was once an essential ingredient in the process of air-curing tobacco. In the 21st century they are fast disappearing from the American landscape . The barns have declined with the tobacco industry in general , there is no one design that can be described as a tobacco barn.

This barn was shown to me by a friend of mine that used to grow tobacco and air dried it in this barn, removable timber planks down each long side of this building were detached to facilitate a through put of air......this barn is over 100 years old and almost toppling off it`s foundations and will shortly be demolished.
