Went out shooting with Zinkwazi last night. There were great clouds until about 10, then they got too thick and sapped all the light. In this one you can see the lights from Goleta reflecting off the clouds.

Awesome shot mate. Just a question, is it day or night shot? It's the sun or the moon on the horizon?
      Tnx a lot!

It's night - well after dark. The lights on the horizon are from the city of Goleta and UCSB reflecting off the fog.

I've seen your work before but seeing it in Popular Photography magazine reminded me of how awesome it is. I didn't realize your stuff was on flickr until now. Work like yours is a big inspiration for some of the light painting i've done.

Hi there, I'm probably going to sound like a complete amateur (i am) But how did you manage to get the light trails with out having a ghost of your body?
But yeah, this really blows my mind, hope to get this good one day!

      Hi Marc,

You see the light because it is very bright. I, on the other hand, am not very bright uh, not reflecting much light ;)

My clothing was reflecting about as much light as the background. I, however, was moving around, not letting much light reflect off me from any given spot; the landscape was still and therefore the cumulative light collected on the sensor. Confused? I know I am ;)
