When I Get Old I Will Wear Purple
while I watch my mind slowly drift away...

Sunday is the Alzheimer's Walk.
Those of us that participate in this walk, do so for two reasons; to commemorate our loved ones who were victims of this most horrendous disease, and to bring awareness to those who have not yet had to watch the daily demise of someone they loved.
My Mother suffered from this terrible disease.
Every day for 17 years I said goodbye to her for the last time, as each day Alzheimer’s stole a little more of my Mom away.
My Mother suffered beyond anything I could describe to you.
She was horrified and terrified.
She looked to us begging for help, but all we could do was love her as hard as we could.
Daily I council people who are taking this journey with their loved ones. They cry and I cry with them.
How could I not?
The only way to help these families stop suffering, is to find a cure.
Please do not feel obligated, but should you want to help, help by doing what you can to fund the cure or by spreading the awareness of this disease.
Thank you from me and the hundreds of families I meet with every year.
And the thousands more I will be meeting in the future.
From my heart,
