Wildflowers in a field

That's a bluebonnet in the foreground but I don't know what the pink and purple flowers are.

This is a series of photos from my first Spring 2010 venture into the Bluebonnet area of south central Texas. It's not far from where I live. I drove 220 miles round trip this time. Saw plenty of bluebonnets, the state flower of Texas, but also yellows, reds, pinks, purples, and lots of cattle and horses, even some free range chickens which I'd never seen before! It's a bit early in the season, peak is in two weeks. But where the bluebonnets were blooming it was prolific! It's a popular photography event here and some travel from far away to see it happening. This year should be real good, the weather was perfect for it!
