We're switching from curtains to blinds in our kitchen, and currently have empty windows with the curtain rails still in place. I won't have time to put up blinds until after Christmas, so in the meantime I've made a snowflake curtain!
Dozens of paper snowflakes, cut from circles of white paper and threaded in garlands using a sewing needle and white thread ... I then tied them onto the curtain rail hooks, so they can be moved along the rail (carefully!) to let more light in during the day (they actually look pretty cool all bunched together) and then spread out again at night for a really dramatic effect :)
