Trio Walter bei der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde Donaueschingen
Am 24. September 2017 im Strawinsky Saal der Donauhallen
The Walter Trio was established in 2012, comprising of bassoonist Rie Koyama, pianist Frédéric Lagarde and oboist David Walter.
All three members are renowned virtuosi, having accumulated close to 40 international prizes between them, and as committed chamber musicians have appeared on stage with the likes of the Quintette Moragues, the ensemble Pasticcio Barocco and the ensemble Calliopée.
As well as performing original works for oboe, bassoon and piano, the Walter Trio has added the transcriptions of David Walter to its repertoire (Tchaikovsky, Chausson, Bruch, Beethoven, Mozart, among others). The trio's first contemporary commission awaits a new work by Bulgarian composer Hristo Yotsov, expected in early 2016.
Their first recording of masterpieces by Bruch, Glinka and Mendelssohn is also to be released in 2016.
