the best free paper bag ever

When I bought the last Christmas present today and asked for a bag to carry it, I was given this bag here - I'd say, the best paper bag I ever got in a shop.

Apparently it is made by gluing together old newspaper. It is not just paper with a newspaper print on it. To enforce the bottom, there's a piece of seemingly hand-recycled, handmade paper glued in on the inside. The holes for the handles are enforced by eyelets and - so it seems - another piece of the paper inside the newspaper sides. Wonderful!

But who spends so much time and effort to create these bags? It does look handmade! I spotted a bar code sticker on the bottom on the outside of the bag. So maybe they are not completely produced by hand. Still a pretty cool recycling project :-)

I wish you all a very nice end of the year, and a merry Christmas should you celebrate it. See you again next year!
