A Small Piece of Paradise
Amber and I found this lamp at Target. I fell in love with it the moment I laid eyes on it. It looked like Berlebach tripod, and I couldn't think of a better lamp to go in my mancave.
If I told you how much work went into this very simple looking shot, you'd think I was mad. Read below for evidence of that fact.
strobist: 1 Quantaray QDC-900WA, inside lamp, 1/16 power, triggered via optical slave. 1 Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ, camera right (attached to door with a DIY Justin clamp), 1/64 power, triggered Cybersync CSRB+, pointed at ceiling to trigger flash in lamp. 1 Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ, camera left, 1/64 power (and zoomed), triggered via CSRB+, pointed at the backside of pillow. 1 White Lightning X2400, camera right, a little more than 1/64 power, triggered via CSRB, diffused by a 16" Ebay beauty dish with 20 degree grid in place, pointed at the other side of the pillow. 1 Vivitar 285HV, camera left (handheld), triggered via optical slave (Wein peanut), with a 10 degree SaxonPC grid, pointed at the leg of the lamp.
