Samara & the Willow Tree

This series was shot at Cane Creek Park in Cookeville, TN.

By the way, this particular shot was especially difficult to capture because of the use of my LCW Fader ND. Unfortunately, my cameras do not focus properly when using the varible ND filter. So, in order to capture the shot, every time the subject moved (even a tiny bit) I had to switch to live view on my tripod-mounted 50D, adjust shutter speed to 1/60 sec, zoom to 5x or 10x magnification, manually focus, switch back to normal view, adjust shutter speed to 1/250 sec, and snap the shutter.

Model Samara.

strobist: 1 White Lightning Ultrazap 1600, camera right, power unknown, diffused by a Paul C Buff 32"x40" Foldable Large Softbox. 1 White Lightning x2400, camera left, power unknown, diffused by a 60" Photek Softlighter II with diffusion panel in place. 1 White Lightning Ultra 600, camera left (slightly behind subject), power unknown, diffused by a 10"x36" gridded stripbox. Strobes triggered via Cybersyncs; powered via Vagabond II. An LCW Fader ND was used.
