The Talmadge Memorial Bridge and River Street in IR
The Talmadge Memorial Bridge spans the Savannah River between downtown Savannah and Hutchinson Island. This view of the bridge can be seen on River Street very near the bridge.
This certainly isn't the most recognizable part of River Street. This portion is well past the tourist haven that is found a little farther down from this intersection. This particular section of River Street is much closer to the bridge and, consequently, a much less glamorous part of town. There are several seemingly abandoned buildings around the intersection, and graffiti has been liberally applied to most of them. However, I found this to be one of my favorite vantage points as far as the bridge was concerned.
