From the west end of the long South Padre Island causeway, looking from Port Isabel. After the hump, it descends to a shorter height visible far in the distance.
This is one Teri's favorite shots from our trip down to the Rio Grande Valley to see my grandparents. I had to park near a little tour-boat business and climb up a concrete embankment while some employees gathered to watch. Apparently they've never seen an idiot with a camera before. Teri joined me. My famished grandparents waited patiently in the car while I found the angle I wanted and snapped a few shots (we were on our way to dinner on the island).
