Monkeypod Shadows - the view from a rokkaku kite

When I wasn't too busy breaking cameras I had some GREAT kite sessions. This is the Ala moana beach park, more from this area to come!

This particular session was notable because this is the only direction the sky was clear and blue. I got out of bed early around 8 (that's early for me) to catch some morning light but it was gray, gloomy, and pouring rain. Around 9 there was a gap in the rainstorm and I thought I would quickly moped to this site, 5 minutes after putting the rokkaku kite in the sky it started to downpour again. I was able to stand under a monkeypod tree during the rain while the rokkaku stayed nailed to the sky the whole time, when there was another rain lull I quickly sent the ricoh gx100 up the line. I'm quite happy with this session and find it curious that you would never guess how dreary the morning was by these few pictures.
