This is a 1946 Post War 1946 Desoto Suburban. It is a custom model. It is the long wheel base model. S11 Series. This is truly a cool car. It was great for families and has the luggage rack on the top. The car is green incolor and the paint appears to be original., it is in good condition for age. there are some cracks and chips and areas of fading and wear. The car is a 4 door with suicide rear doors. The wood in the luggage rack is original and appears to be oak. it is in good condition. Totally cool. the trim on the car is in decent condtion. It is complete. there is a spotlight on the driver's side. In my growing up - this was for jackrabbit hunting in South Dakota. there is some pitting on the trim that is normal for the age of the car. There is a Goddess hood ornament. there is some minimal rust in the wheel wells and lower areas. The car has a flathead 6 cylinder motor. this car turns over and runs. The transmission is manual and is 3 speed on the column. The interior is in decent condition. I think the seats were recovered with a brown vinyl nagahide- There are 2 bench seats. There is a mat floor. The floors are in good condition. There are wood grain panels and are in good condition. it has a decent steering wheel with a few cracks. there are 78,018 miles on the odometer. there is a radio and heater. there is a window crank broken. Original hardware. dual heaters. Interior lights. correct mirrors. the interior is clean and good condition. This would be a fabulous addition to any collection. Rare Car.
