Chocolate Cranberry Cake
#ds110 Food engages all the senses. Make a photograph of food that causes our mouth to water or pucker. Get the viewer engaged. @dailyshoot
More cake fresh from the crock-pot. My wife Louise is giving a crockpot-cooking course (in Mississauga) and I'm doing shots for her web site.
Strobist: lit with an 18" Westcott Apollo softbox (above, front-left) with Pentax AF-540FGZ hotshoe flash. A 2nd AF-540FGZ flash (behind, wall-facing, wide-angle diffuser in place) flooding the wall white. Both flashes set to manual and triggered optically.
Pentax K20D, 135mm, f/8.0, ISO 100.
This is a merged stack in Photoshop of 3 shots taken at different focus planes: front, middle(ish) and back. I used Auto-Align Layers followed by Auto-Blend Layers to get good DoF from front to back. (I should have taken one more frame with the focus set just ahead of the rear-most visible part of the cake. Well, next time. :-) )
