De Dolle Stille Nacht Reserva 2008

A bottle of Stille Nacht Reserva 2008 from De Dolle Brouwers in Esen, Belgium.

Stille Nacht Reserva 2008 is a barrel aged version of the regular De Dolle Stille Nacht Christmas seasonal and a very rare beer. At 12% abv it poured a cloudy, orange brown color with a bubbly white head. It sported a wonderful sour aroma with notes om lemon, lactic acid, oak and some candy sugar sweetness underneath. Delicious! The mouthfeel was full bodied with a mild carbonation and a light acidic bite. The flavor started out with a sour sweet fruitiness, again lemon, lactic acid and caramel. Tart finish with a long sour aftertaste.

This is a delicious beer, in the oud bruin direction, really well balanced between sweetness and sourness.
