Brookhaven National Laboratory is home to the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II), one of the brightest, newest, and most advanced synchrotron light facilities in the world. Researchers come to NSLS-II to focus on the most important challenges at the nanoscale, including studies in quantum materials, energy storage and conversion, condensed matter and materials physics, chemistry, and life science. Brookhaven Lab also hosted its predecessor the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS).
