the embrace of caring hands
If there is one thing that I stand by more than any other, it is that artists should create whatever they want, whenever they want. A big pitfall is when an artist decides not to based on others opinions. I have been guilty of stopping myself from sharing pictures in the past for fear of seeming repetitive, but this time I wanted to share. I have been holding a lot of pictures back - about 25 created just this year that I'm not sharing...but that is a sign of growth to me - knowing when to share and when not to. The other pictures I haven't shared are still in folders because I knew I could do better, push harder. This one though, even though it is a sequel, fills me with inspiration - a softer look at the relationship between human and nature, between reality and fairytale.
I'm sitting in a hotel room in Dallas right now about to go teach at the After Dark photo convention, quite honestly one of my favorite things in the world to do :-) It marks 3 days that I get to spend with the most inspiring people on the planet, the greatest friends I could ask for, constant laughter and tons of hugs.
