the keeper of keys

This picture is inspired by 2 of the genius photographers I am exhibiting with at the Annenberg right now: Maggie Taylor and Jean-Francois Rauzier. I was inspired by their use of collage as well as incorporating many images into one.

This photo is 1,000 layers of keys. I photographed various keys about 50 different ways, and then out of those 50 created 1,000 keys, tweaking each slightly by hand and placing them strategically to cover my body as though it were a dress. My computer wasn't very happy with me. It ended up taking about 30 seconds per key to move until I switched to a desktop to finish. This has been one of the most creatively rewarding images I have ever created. I am incredibly inspired to continue down this road and see what else can be done...if 20+ hrs of editing can be allotted of course :P

I will post some 100% close ups on my facebook page in the BTS album since flickr is completely not the place to be viewing this...wish I could share a 2000px image here safely! hehe :)
