the dying day
I thought I could use something to break up my stream a little bit. This picture was a joy and a nightmare to create. I had a lot of things working against me, a lot of which happened during shooting. I wanted it to look like nighttime yet it was broad daylight and sunshine was peeping in everywhere, plus it was cramped and I couldn't get back far enough to get everything in the shot, and I couldn't waste more than 5 mins of this man's time. He was re-enacting the American Civil War, after all. Editing was a big challenge too. I've been working on it almost every day for 2 weeks...but it was fun! And the day that this was taken was one of the best days of my entire life.
This man is Strider, the General of the 16th Battalion. We were both excited to do this impromptu shoot when we stumbled across the civil war re-enactment...who wouldn't be? And isn't this man AMAZING?! Super nice too, and loved having his photo taken. Here is a closeup of this face - Priceless!
