while they were gone
This picture turned out to be quite Crewdson-esque...it wasn't directly intentional but is a good example of how inspiration can creep in even when we don't realize it. I adore Crewdson!
I liked how this picture looked mirrored against my last picture on my flickr stream...very similar poses, same model, but totally, 100% different feel. This was shot in the house where I held my workshop...that claw foot tub was beautiful. I loved this location more than words can say...It struck me as very lonely though. No one lives in the house and yet there was beauty all around, no one to enjoy it. That got me thinking about this scene...a girl in a bathtub, standing up quickly and out of breath at a moment's realization. Perhaps she is thinking about the fact that she has been left alone, or maybe the shock of laying under the water for slightly too long got to her...I saw many different stories in my mind when creating this, far more than what I've written here.
