the facade of wilting flowers

I have been waiting for so long to do this, not because I didn't have the opportunity but because I kept forgetting about it. I also was nervous, because I shot it in direct sunlight and didn't know if I'd pull off an edit that I liked. I did this picture by holding a piece of lace fabric in the line of the sun so the shadow came off on her body, then edited myself and the fabric out. Her leg looks out of focus because the fabric flowed away from her in the wind thus creating a softer shadow. And black and white - I can't remember ever feeling satisfied with doing an image in black and white. So all of that to say that this picture feels shiny and new :-P
