the children who burned her
Eventually a behind the scenes/interview video will accompany this, but I got impatient so here is my Hansel and Gretel image that I've been hiding for a few weeks. It took a lot of set up but it was all very fun setup - I walked along the on-ramp to a freeway and picked vines, only to find out that a homeless man was sleeping in him. So I gave him a dollar and took some vines.
Then I bought a 70lb bag of sand, which looks tiny but is in fact incredibly heavy, which I poured on the floor here. I also bought two small bags of black sand, one to pour on top of the big pile (which was just for bulk) to make it look like ash, and the other for my model, Garrett, to throw at the pile. The fridge was already in this warehouse, thank goodness! I really wanted that to give the feeling of an old kitchen.
Model: Garrett Liggett (and me, hehe)
