I haven't talked a lot about this here, but last year I was asked to come on board to the Sony Artisan group, which was a really special moment for me. This year Sony started an initiative that gave away five $25,000 grants to women photographers or filmmakers. It was a huge highlight of my hear to be a mentor in the program and a spokesperson for the Sony Alpha Female grants.
I visited San Fransisco a couple months back to speak about the program, and I got to spend time with the other four mentors. We were all super limited on time, but I asked them if I could have 10 minutes to create an image. They all agreed, and we met outside our hotel wearing bedsheets. Everyone thought we were nuts, but given only 10 minutes, what is a girl to do! I had to composite.
