Bemused Train Engineer Watching the Idiot Photographer who has Too Much of his Body Protruding from the Train Window to be Safe

Newer Older

Special chartered train ride from Petersburg to Moorefield, WV, and back. A gourmet spareribs dinner was served. This shot was taken near the Petersburg Gap gorge, between Petersburg and Moorefield, WV.

Part of the "Romance on Rails" set, within the "Roving Photographer" collection.

I got special permission in advance to hang out of the windows, and ride on the open boarding vestibule in the rear car. In return, South Side Depot gets to use these shots for promotional brochures, and the weekly paper.

Still, I think I made the engineer pretty nervous.

Bill Wootten, the-singing-photographer, and 28 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Nice shot. Love the perspective from leaning out too far!!

By the way, if you want to get this into EXPLORE it is better to have the picture in a relatively small number of groups. You could remove this from some and see if your interestingness goes up.

Thanks for all of the great comments, everyone!

StGrundy, thanks for the tip. I've read that about Explore before in a forum, but the problem is, I guess, I just don't get the point of Explore? I've never really seen an explanation as to why it is important to get photos in there, maybe you can explain? Is it for prestige? I really don't know.
