The War on Flickrers

a.k.a. 'False Positives'

A rather stupid advertising campaign by the UK police... Having people report "odd seeming" photographers (i.e. most flickrers!) takes police time away from really fighting crime and terrorism.

UK Member of Parliament Austin Mitchell has tabled a motion in the Commons that has drawn on cross-party support from 150 other MPs, calling on the Home Office and the police to educate officers about photographers' rights.. You can support his efforts by using the website Write To Them to write an e-mail letter to your UK Member of Parliament directly, asking them if they are supporting the Early Day Motion.

UK residents or ex-pats can also sign this e-petition at the 10 Downing Street government website.
