Leonard Taylor covering the standing start kilometre at Silverstone in a time of 45.03 seconds, driving a 1911 10hp Stanley Steam Car, 1949.

The Bristol firm of Seetru Ltd was founded by Leonard Taylor who had previously worked in the oil distribution business; he set out to supply level gauges for 40 gallon oil drums from premises in Queen Square. In 1950 Leonard Taylor was joined by Otto Varga whose son, Dr Andrew Varga, is now also involved in the business. From having simply distributed gauges the firm began to develop its own level gauging.
