Help needed with old family photos!

This is a bit of a long shot but Fran needs some help with her family history, the photos above, some from the Victorian era, of her relatives. Unfortunately there are no names or dates on any of them but several were taken at Plucknett's photographers in Kingswood, and some are in carte-de-visite format.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, any info regarding time period or even names would be very much appreciated. Families names the people could be from are Harris, Cross, Parker, possibly Britton, Peacock.

The resolution of the pictures is not brilliant.

Britton and Peacock are well known Kingswood names connected to the boot trade.

Behind every family photo is a story

There’s something intriguing about poring over old photographs. Whether the photos are black and whites or yellow-stained images from the halcyon days of our own youth, looking at them is like peeking through a window at another world.

But if you’ve inherited boxes and boxes of old photos, whether you’re a family history buff or just trying to get organized, you may find yourself asking, “Who are these people?”

Well, here is a tip to help your research, share those dusty old prints with others. it now makes perfect sense to put all of your old family photos online. I will automatically upload your photos to my Flickr collection.

"if you are interested, please contact me", see link below.

Local Historians and Family Historians have a great deal of knowledge to share.

This service is entirely free, with the hope that you and the historian and genealogy community as a whole will benefit from it.

Before the internet, old photographs like these would sit in dusty boxes in forgotten attics. At best they’d be shown in a family album. Now they can be viewed by anyone, anywhere, and their backstories can be told in captions.
