'The Mount', Shrewsbury - Charles Darwin's birthplace (1809) and his home until after he returned from his 'Beagle' voyage. The house is currently used by Shrewsbury town council for the District Valuer and Valuation Officer, but is also open to the public. Our visit was after opening times. Darwin's North Wales trip began here in early August 1831.
(Pity I couldn't avoid about the industrial lift on the L!)
