Queen Victoria

On several occasions during the Crimean war Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited wounded soldiers in military hospitals. The Queen described a visit to Chatham on 3 March 1855 as ‘an intensely interesting, touching, & gratifying one to me’. The page containing the Queen’s sketches of patients was pasted into the copy of the journal made by her daughter Princess Beatrice.
