In memorium Samuel Beckett

On Dun Laoghaire's long East Pier wall where an inscription of disembodied lines from Samuel Beckett's short play Krapp's Last Tape marks its notional scene:

"...great granite rocks

the foam flying up in the light

of the lighthouse

and the wind-gauge spinning

like a propeller,

clear to me at last..."
