"Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, But to be young was very heaven!"
This was a year ago today - today its chucking it down in Brighton.(sorry if you've already seen this)
I've reposted this for three reasons
1 - its my most "interesting" photo (according to flickr!) by a long way
2 - it was when taking photos like this at low tide in Brighton (see for more) I realised that my £100 point & shoot camera was really limiting what I could do.
3 - this photo shows some of the benefits of a cheap camera & processing with free F-Spot - the glaring sun, silhouettes as a substitute for decent exposure control, and over-processed colour as the camera couldn't do much into the sun. Here I like the effects, but not often.
I then spent a year trying to get my head round all the different types of cameras, pulled strongly to DSLRs for their control and focusing. But their size meant it wouldn't have been with me that morning a year ago. Now I'm saving for a tiny compact system camera AND a full frame DSLR and lenses.
I'll post more about my dilemma on the Brighton flickr group later.
We had breakfast on an "island" last month. It was warm enough to swim in the sea at 9am!
Ding Dong Doo Island had featured in various stories for the children, but we never expected to find it.
The circles were made by some Brighton bloke who did it all weekend.
