The lion in Leicester
This is the only half decent shot I got without strong reflections in the display case glass.
Part of the Cultural Olympiad, three giant crochet lions in a glass cage outside Leicester's Curve theatre. It's a pity that the excellent, huge artwork was rather let down by the display case. There's too much reflection and the white bars are a distraction. Perhaps the budget ran out a bit too early. Before someone suggests it, yes, I know I should have used a polarizing filter. I just wasn't carrying one.
The exhibit label reads:
"Lionheart Project Celebrates the RICH TEXTILE HERITAGE of the East Midlands. Shauna Richardson HAND CROCHETED 36 miles of yarn using a 10MM hook and the wool of 150 Derbyshire Dales SHEEP to create an interpretation of the 3 LIONS royal crest.". Good grief!
