Dead Bd-infected Atelopus limosus at Sierra Llorona (posed to show ventral lesions and chytridiomycosis signs)
We found this dead frog at a lowland site in Panama (<200m) January, 2011. Lab-tests confirmed our suspicions that it was positive for Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) or amphibian chytrid fungus. This is the first observed Bd-related mortality at a lowland site in Panama. We also have B-roll for folks needing video of dead frogs. Please help us to combat the effects of this deadly disease find out more and donate to our project on www.amphibianrescue.org
