Arby's giant hat neon sign, Ashtabula, OH

    Newer Older

It's amazing that Arby's not only keeps but maintains so many of these giant beauties. I emailed the company last year to thank them, but got no response - I suspect that some at HQ would like to ditch the 40-year-old icons.

Cool shot!! It's really amazing that Arby's is one of the only fast food places that still has some of their vintage signage around. We have two of these Arby's signs in Erie.

I haven't seen one in years, thank you for sharing! This would never get past our sign height regulations in G-burg.

Funny that a sign like this would be offensive in most towns, yet massive new stores and parking lots are not, at least to those regulating signs and growth.

I'm from Texas, but lived in Ashtabula for a year or so. I called this Arby's of Las Vegas. I'd never seen another one, and didn't know there were others.

This was one of my favorite sights as a child... now I take it for granted since I pass it nearly every day.

for anyone keeping track, there are TWO of these Arbys beauties at the location on Route 202 in Wilmington DE!

I'm thinkin' Arby's had best not take the Holiday Inn route and ditch these "Great Signs"! There are two here in Indianapolis and I have a photo of one on my site in Waterbury, Connecticut.

These big hat's are great! I know that they are not liked by our nations current crop of planning and zoning commisioners that do whatever they can to ensure that everything is as boring and dull as possible (2 foot tall stucco monument sign, anyone?). Anyway, rant over and very nice pic.

Every time I head toward Pittsburgh I pass one of these vintage signs on Route 51 in Brentwood.

All the Arby's in Toledo had signs like these into the 90's. I miss them!
