Salton Sea Sunset

    Newer Older

    Salton Sea, California

I've been trying to find some ACR settings that mimic xpro'd Velvia 100. This is about as close as I can get at the moment, but the actual film is much more random and unpredictable when cross processed. Even so, I'm diggin' the colors that came out of this conversion.

Wow. Probably my favorite Salton Sea image so far. The colors, and the symmetry caused by the reflections, are fantastic.

WOW! Thanks for the comments, everyone! I was quite hesitant to put this photo out with the heavy processing rather than a natural image or a straight b/w conversion, but I'm glad I did! The funky colors seem to be pretty catchy.

Definitely keep it funky. Looks more amazing at the larger size too. Well done.

There is a lot of poetry in this capture

I think one of the benefits of digital is the amount of experimenting that can be done. I've come to accept that the steps don't matter but the final output does. Well, more so anyway.

Kind of reminds me of a softer saturated version of Konica VX100 also. Awesome colours - ethereal.
