Another Day Ends

This was taken about half an hour after sunset on the Torrey Pines State Beach. The colors were amazing, and I couldn't help but try to capture them.

Amazingly enough, I didn't do much of any processing on this one -- just a few little tweaks in ACR.

So this is what I call : Magic Light. I love the deep colours and the very soft feeling of it. Good work, Brian. The straight colourful line works perfect, maybe I miss some light in ther foreground but that's not essential, because the power of color rules.

I think the lack of colour in the foreground really intesifies that pink band. So perfectly straight, though soft and ethereal. It's no wonder you wanted to capture the colours!

The hut is nice. Despite its exsistence, this still has the minimal feel that most of your photos project.

color in this is great.very nice shot.

Thanks Martin! About that foreground... It's actually a bit brighter if viewed outside of a web browser. The original image is actually just bright enough to read the sign on the back of the lifeguard station.

Thanks WB -- I took some other ones without the lifeguard station and they were too minimal to really be interesting. I've got a few more of this scenery, but with different compositions and objects in the frame. I took one that included the moon up in a dark portion of the sky too.

This is beautiful. And I love this statement Martin. The power of color rules. So true.

The moon one sounds like it would be good. You planning on uploading it at some point?

Maybe... the thing about the moon shot is that it doesn't have the lifeguard station in it because the moon was way off to the south.

    Those colours are positively delicious......
