An old house was here, Denniston, West Coast, New Zealand

Denniston was a thriving mining town on the West Coast. It was also set in an inhospitable part of the West Coast, high on the hills near Westport, where it would have been very windy and cold, in addition to the extremely high rainfall in this part of the country. Where there were many houses, and hotels, little remains. A few buildings and evidence of something more, such as these two chimneys, once part of a boarding house.
