George Washington National Forest
Blue Ridge Mountains Virginia
Yesterday was pretty incredible... After several snow flurries in the valley, I saw that the ridges where getting some nice accumulation, so I decided last minute to get up to spy rock to shoot the sunset when I noticed the clouds were starting to break to the west. I basically ran up the mountain, summiting a 1260 ft. elevation gain in 1.5 miles in 45 minutes. The wind was brutal up here, gusting up to 40-50 mph with freezing cold air while I was getting these shots. But, as you can see the color was just incredible. These colors are very real, and I had to desaturate some to make this look believable. Just a spectacular evening and quite a workout!
